Nous Research, founded in 2023 in California, uses blockchain technology to enable users to contribute idle computing resources to support large AI model training. The company recently launched Psyche, a network on the Solana blockchain that enables fault-tolerant, globally distributed training of AI models, and successfully ran a 15-billion-parameter model in December 2024 by scaling the network to 11,000 steps.
